In a bid to reiterate his commitment to providing free education in his state, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has warned headmasters and principals of public schools in the state against collection of school fees.

The governor issued the warning at the closing ceremony of a two-day retreat for top government functionaries held in Akwanga on Thursday 31st November, 2019.

Engr Sule stated categorically that principals and headteachers of public schools should henceforth desist from charging school fees.

I understand that some principals and the headmasters, are charging school fees and they are saying it’s the directive of the new governor.

“I am repeating myself that I’m not even aware of it. So I want to state categorically that if anybody is charging school fees, they should desist from that” he warned.

He further warned the principals to stop all new initiatives they introduced until he meets with stakeholders.
