It is good news for the Landmark University Omu-Aran, Kwara state as the National Universities Commission (NUC), has restored full accreditation status to the six undergraduate courses presented to the team from the commission during the November/ December 2016 exercise.
The institution’s Head of Media, Mr. Ajakaiye Olarenwaju in a statement made available to The Guardian in Abuja, listed the fully accredited programmes as Computer Science, Economics, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Sociology.
Olanrewaju said the full accreditation of six of its courses by the NUC is an indication of the university’s penchant for best practices that have culminated in this high level performance.
According to NUC report, the courses accredited were highly rated by the commission and would be for the period of five years – between 2017 and 2021.The statement quoted the vice chancellor, Prof Aize Obayan as attributing the success of the accreditation to the faithfulness of God upon the university.
She further appreciated the proprietor, Living Faith church worldwide under the visionary leadership of the Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Regents, Dr David Oyedepo, for all the rich investments, while commending the notable contributions of the entire Faculty, Staff and Management of the university in their relentless pursuit of the vision of academic excellence and worthy scholarship in the global education landscape.
“She however noted that apart from the academic accreditations, the university’s programmes in Accounting, Banking & Finance, and all the five engineering programmes, including Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Information Engineering and Agricultural & Biosystems engineering, have also gained full professional accreditation status from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, (ICAN) and Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria respectively.
The statement added that just recently, the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) conferred full accreditation status on the computer science programme of the university.
