Ibadan Poly Gets New Rector

The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has approved the appointment of Prof. Kazeem Adebiyi as the Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, as well as other management staff.

According to a statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun, on Monday, other appointments approved by the governor were; Registrar, Mrs Modupe Fawole; Bursar, Mr Olawale Ojesola; Chief Librarian, Dr Samuel Ajala and Director of Works and Services, Stephen Ipadeola.

Arulogun said the appointments became imperative following the expiration of the tenure of the erstwhile management staff of the institution on February 13, 2019.

The government spokesman said the new rector, who is 50 years old and an alumnus of the institution, holds an Ordinary National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from The Polytechnic Ibadan, B. Mechanical Engineering, M.Sc Industrial Engineering and Ph.D Industrial Engineering.

He is also a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, as well as the Nigerian Association of Engineers and the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
