None Of Our Students is Missing Lagelu Grammar School Principal Reacts to Kidnapper Story

Written by Akeem Alao

The principal of Lagelu Grammar School, Agugu, Ibadan, Mr Tope Onipede, has come out to deny story that some of the students of the school were victims of an alleged kidnapper, Ismaila Raji, who was quoted as saying that he killed and dried the body of his victims.

In a statement by Onipede, a copy of which was made available to OYO INSIGHT, he explained that his “attention has been drawn to a recent publication posted to The Lagelu Grammar School Government Board Platform concerning the case of a car wash attendant nabbed with complete human skeleton. The suspect in his confession reportedly revealed that he had killed seven other people so far and that most of the victims were students of Lagelu Grammar School.

“I wish to state unequivocally that there is no iota of truth in the story as no case of missing student(s) or kidnap was reported to the school authority or to any member of staff by the parents/guardian before we went on vacation on Friday, 5th April, 2019.”

This is just as he berated the media for not “investigating the case properly before releasing such unverified confession to the public.”

He added that “Let me place on record that LAGSOBA EXCO under the dynamic leadership of Professor Olufemi Omisore had helped the school greatly by clearing the thick bush around the hostels. Hence, there is no hiding place for hoodlums to perpetrate such a criminal act at the school.

“I hereby use this medium to inform the Old boys of Lagelu Grammar school and the general public that the story is far from the truth,” the statement concluded.
