Written by Akeem Alao

Hasan Usman, the Principal of Katsina Unity College has been sacked for under-feeding his students.

While announcing the dismissal of the Principal from service, the state Commissioner for Education, Dr Aliyu Tilde, said the sacked Principal along with two storekeepers were found serving the food of 350 students to over 1,200 students last weekend despite the fact that the state government supplies sufficient food items to all the 35 boarding schools before the inception of the school year.

He also announced that a new Principal had been appointed by the Ministry on Tuesday 15th October, 2019 for the Unity School.

The commissioner also stated that a robust high-tech arrangement for monitoring of students’ meals along with designated resident food police would soon be deployed to all boarding secondary schools in the state.

“The era of starving boarding students will become history in the state in the next few weeks, in sha Allah,” the commissioner said.
