Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State has begun online examination for the second academic semester.
This was disclosed on Monday June 1, 2020, by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Joshua Ogunwole.
Professor Ogunwole stated that the second semester examination of 2019/2020 would be phased. He added that the first phase began on Monday June 1.
Since the beginning of the lockdown directive, the University has given a directive to all its academic staff to be active online for effective teaching.
They were urged to upload relevant teaching materials and hold real-time interactions with the students with the use of Bowen Smart School Hub (SSHUB), a platform designed for robust learning interaction.
The school Head of Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Mr Toba Adaramola, said in a statement, “The VC tasked the students to take time to carefully read the guidelines for the Online Examination as published on the University website.”
The VC advised that students should not allow distractions and interference during the online examination and Parents should limit their meddling during the period.
He noted that students who have not paid tuition fee would not participate in the online exam but would do so at a later date after payment.
“Students are reminded that the university has zero-tolerance for examination malpractices and irregularities and are further asked not to block the cameras of their computers while the examination is ongoing,” he said.
