The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reacted to the claims by the management of University of Benin that the suspension of its CBT centre was hastily carried out. According to JAMB, the atrocious rate of extortion from candidates at the University of Benin’s Computer-Based Centre the triggered its suspension was shocking.
The board in a statement signed by JAMB’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, asked the universiy to identify and punish those behind the horrible act.
The Registrar of the board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, was disturbed by evidence supporting the extortion of candidates at the university’s CBT centre.
Mr Fabian said the board rejected the comment that the conclusion was done hastily and without proper investigation.
He further said that apology would be demanded if found guilty.
