Gov Abdullahi Sule Inaugurates New JAMB CBT Centre in Lafia

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has innaugurated a 2000 capacity Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Computer Based Test centre in Lafia, the state capital.

While disclosing this on Wednesday May 27, 2020, the governor stated that the project was part of the activities outlined for the celebration of his one year in office.

He explained that he decided to complete the project initiated by the immediate past governor, Umaru Tanko Almakura, to reiterate his commitment to ensuring that the youth in the state acquire formal education.

Governor Sule added that he decided to name the center, Umaru Tanko Almakura CBT Center because the past governor started it.

“Today we are seeing continuity in governance at its peak. This is an initiative the former governor started with WAEC, and that is the reason why we decided to name the center Umaru Tanko Almakura CBT Centre,” he said.

He noted that the Centre would not only benefit Nasarawa State, but Nigeria as a whole.

Speaking at the inauguration, the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Fatu Jimaita Sabo, stated that providing JAMB necessary accommodation would improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the examination body.

Mrs. Sabo added that construction of the test center was aimed at catering for the yearnings of children who seek admission into tertiary institutions annually.
