It is the culture of the school to reward academic excellence. This is aimed at encouraging other pupils to buckle down and perform excellently.
Today, a basic three pupil with the best handwriting in the school, Subomi Fatoyinbo, was promoted from the use of pencil to the use pen. He is now the only pupil in the lower basic permitted to write in pen.
While Fatoyinbo is rejoicing over the promotion from pencil to pen, some his seniors in the upper classes will likely face demotion from pen to pencil if they fail to improve on their handwriting withing the time given to them.
“I want to believe that other pupils, especially Fatoyinbo’s classmates will be encouraged to improve on their handwriting,” the head teacher, Mr Oregbesan Julius Gbenga, said.
To further motivate the boy, he was presented two new Lucky pens he will be using in class.
“As soon as you exhaust these ones, don’t hesitate to come to the office for another one. Don’t disturb your parents for the pen to use in class,” the head teacher told the boy.
