The Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, has disclosed the support of the state government for the online classes introduced by private schools in the state.

While disclosing this on Monday 27 April, 2020, Mrs Folasade affirmed that the state government was not against the various virtual classes adopted by the private schools.

She said, “The state government is not against the online teaching initiative adopted by most private schools.”

According to her, the ministry encourages schools to set up standard online teaching/learning platforms where children can learn effectively.

The commissioner disclosed that online teaching and learning is the most effective method in the face of the ravaging coronavirus pandemic.

“Even after the pandemic, we encourage schools to continue with online classroom because it encourages a lot of skills,” she noted.

She therefore urged schools to consult extensively with parents and find a win-win solution that would be acceptable to all stakeholders.
