Written by Brownson Etimbuk

A Nigerian man, Oluyabode Treasures-Olawunmi read aloud for 120hours in 5days to set a new world record in Read Aloud Challenge.

Bayode began reading at 1:30 PM on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Herbert Macaulay Library, Yaba, Lagos.

According to him, “I am doing this for Nigeria – for the world to know we’re a great nation – and yes, we do have libraries”

The former record is 113 hours 15 minutes and it’s been held by a Nepali, Deepak Sharma since 2008.

The Ikorodu born father of three has rekindled the love for reading and going to the library. He will now serve as an ambassador on the Lagos Reads Project

Congratulations!
