Operators of tutorial centres in Ondo State have defied Covid-19 the government’s lockdown directive.
The operators open centres to all students, including those seeking admission into higher institutions without compliance with safety guidelines.
It was reported that some of the tutorial centres charge between N200 and N2000 depending on the class.

Some operators were arrested for violation of government’s order.
One tutorial centre operator, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, argued that those of them in the business were only trying to help students with what they have been taught at school.
The students, mostly from the state public schools, said that their parents wanted them to attend tutorial classes until the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.
While speaking about activities of the operators, the leader of the Association of Tutorial Operators in the state, Mr Bankole Fisayo, said he had warned members of the association to stop holding coaching centres for students due to COVID-19 outbreak.
He added that some, mostly in populated areas, were still disobeying that order.
Ayodeji Olufemi, spokesperson for the NSCDC in Ondo State said he would wait till Monday before officially reacting on the issue.
