Protest Rocks Adamawa University over ASSU Strike

Adamawa State, students under the aegis of National Union of Adamawa State Students (NUADSS), staged a protest to in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, against the strike by their lecturers, saying they have had enough of it and asking the Federal Government to resolve the issues involved without further delay.
In the protest, the members of NUADSS, students of Adamawa State origin spread in universities across the country, stated that it is imperative on the lecturers and the Federal Government to urgently reach an agreement and facilitate commencement of academic activities.

Expressing their frustration during the protest at the Ahmadu Ribadu Square in Yola, the students chanted, “We say no to this! We say enough is enough!”

The President of the National Union of Adamawa State Students, Ashraf Usman Marafa, said contemporary students could not tolerate people in leadership positions who would not ensure the smooth delivery of education that they enjoyed while they were in school.

“It is disappointing to see people who were beneficiaries of free and qualitative education deny students theirs,” he said.
