UNILAG Receives Bots from Platform Capital

In a bid to aid learning experience of students in the University Library and the University as a whole, the University of Lagos has received donation of some Robots.

Platform Capital donating Robots to Unilag

The robots were donated to the school by Platform Capital on Monday, 29 July, 2020 in the school premises.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, in his address, commended Platform Capital for this gesture. He also appreciated Friends of the University who have supported the University in various ways over the years.

Ogundipe stated that the robots will be sent to the University Library, College of Medicine and the University of Lagos Business School.

The Chairman, Platform Capital, Dr. Akintoye Akindele, while addressing the audience, said that Platform Capital is fully aligned with the vision of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ogundipe.

He also noted that the vision is to make the University number one in Africa and one of the best in the world.

Akindele presented the robots to the University. A live demo was also performed for the present audience.

The robots, CRZR, donated to Unilag, are cloud-based intelligent humanoid robots designed with the following features:

  • Face recognition
  • Surveillance Technology
  • Open API
  • Data Management
  • Advert & Promotion
  • Book Shelf Management
  • Research
  • Customizable
  • Entry Validation

The University Librarian, Dr. Yetunde Zaid, however, expressed profound gratitude to Platform Capital for the donation. She said that it was a timely and laudable effort.
