We’re committed to training our teachers –Ekiti

Written by Elvis Boniface

Ekiti State Government says it remains committed to equipping its teachers to meet with global trends.

The state Deputy Governor, Prof. Modupe Adelabu, said this at a training organised to further expose teachers to fresh teaching methodology as well as classroom management/administration.

The workshop was organised for selected teachers in Ekiti East, Ikole and Ijero local government areas.

A member of the state Universal Basic Education Board, Mr. Bunmi Awotiku, represented the deputy governor on the occasion.

Adelabu, who said the essence was to achieve sustainable quality teaching and learning in basic education, noted that the retraining would widen the participants’ horizon and equip them to compete favourably with their counterparts from across the world.

One of the resource persons at the workshop, Prof. Lawrence Olofintoye, noted that the training would further refresh the participants’ knowledge.

Olofintoye, who teaches at the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, also urged the beneficiaries to justify the government’s huge investment in the education sector by rededicating themselves to their duties.

He also enjoined them to be more committed to the profession.
